Families in a rural community in Nepal are celebrating the completion of a new water well, providing hundreds of residents with reliable access to safe drinking water. Community members gathered as field teams officially opened the newly constructed well, which will serve children, parents, and elderly residents who previously traveled long distances to collect water from unprotected rivers and ponds.
For many families, access to clean water has been a daily logistical challenge. Residents frequently had to travel before sunrise to walk for hours transporting heavy containers, often relying on contaminated water sources that presented persistent health risks to young children.
During the opening, families collected fresh water throughout the day, bringing immediate relief to the surrounding households. Local mothers noted that the proximity of the new well will significantly improve health conditions and reduce the daily physical burden historically placed on women and young girls responsible for gathering water.
This infrastructure project was executed and completed through the direct ground operations of the Lily Jay Foundation, continuing its ongoing mission to establish sustainable access to clean water and support community stability worldwide.
